Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs: It’s Time to Start Your Success Story

New entrepreneurs, firmly planning to set up their own business or have already started one within the last three years have a great opportunity to participate in a cross-border exchange programme – Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE). This programme gives a chance to learn from experienced entrepreneurs in European or other partner countries.

One of the newest success stories of this programme was shared by a Lithuanian participant – Gabriele Pauliukaite who spent 4 months in Denmark. She was looking for mentorship before launching her business idea to develop a talent match-making platform based on data analytics. The main aim was to test ideas with someone who has experience working in a similar area, however in a different market, such as Scandinavia. “This exchange provided me with a great understanding of the cultural aspects of launching a business in Scandinavia. The exchange contributed very positively, this I decided to continue studying E-commerce in Denmark,” – G.Pauliukaite shared her thoughts after working with an experienced entrepreneur.

The exchange overall went smoothly and both participants of the EYE programme are satisfied with the results. Danish host entrepreneur and mentor Kristijonas Zibutis was very positive about the exchange: “During a very limited time, we managed to make a work of 10 people team – tested a foreign market and prepared sales strategy for new entrepreneur’s business”.

The most memorable event for both participants was a meeting with the Danish Ministry of Defence. During the market testing, entrepreneurs reached out to a couple of institutions who may be interested in future services. With the Ministry of Defence they had zero expectations, just wanted to test out how public entities would reach to their service offerings. However, participants of EYE programme were gladly surprised that the Danish Ministry of Defence was highly interested in their offer and most likely will become clients soon.

All entrepreneurs who had freshly started their own business or want to start it in the nearest future are welcome to apply for a grant and start their exchange on Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme. The exchange of experience takes place during a stay with the experienced entrepreneur, which helps the new entrepreneur acquire the skills needed to run a small firm.
